Standard Bank is one of the leading banks in South Africa with a large pan-African footprint. Three of the bank's key focus areas are:
a) the drive to one centralised and integrated operating model
b) the implementation of a new banking system
c) the ability to react to change in an ever-changing and expanding market
ARIS has been chosen as the enterprise modelling and management tool to assist in achieving these goals. However, rolling out ARIS to a user base of a thousand plus users from different architecture disciplines proofed to be a challenging journey. This presentation will focus on this journey - the roll out approach that was followed, lessons learned and in the end - the success that was gained.

Vestas is setting up the management of the IT landscape and its relation to business services, organization and data in ARIS. To do this, the setup will consist of these elements:
- A meta model is used as a basis for showing dependencies between the four main dimensions: processes, organization, data and systems, and for building the ARIS governance structure.
- An As-Is system landscape, showing dependencies between applications, data, users and processes, which will also be the basis for the development of the IT roadmaps and the target architecture.
ARIS is chosen as the global tool for both IT and BPM. While their setup is separate today due to practicability, the vision is to join forces on one combined platform in the future.
