The Road to BPM and SOA in Lyse
Lyse Energi AS John Ingve Eielsen
John Ingve Eielsen from Lyse (a major energy, utilities, telecommunication and broadband company in the Nordics) will be presenting horizontal processes in a vertical world. The aim is to provide an overview of Lyse’s journey from classical integration to BPM & SOA centric, business aligned and agile solutions.
Lyse is an energy company that grew into new market areas like telecommunication and broadband, inevitably introducing new business models and new processes that overlap only partially across the old and new business areas. These new processes had to be made explicit, because they influence IT solutions, as well as the very style of working in the IT department. Eielsen shall be talking about the new industry areas (the verticals) and how Lyse’s vision of still functioning as one single company (one horizontal across all verticals) has influenced Lyse’s architecture in general (and integration architecture in particular), enabling sharing of central processes across the industry areas, while still allowing for the specific needs of each industry area.
